The Link Centre Program

The Link Centre provides its attendees practical skills acquisition in:

  • health and well-being , and work and life skills

  • electronic and personal communication

  • literacy and numeracy

The Link Centre transition program is unique because:

  • Each young person is guided to work toward their own personal and academic goals

  • We emphasis personal and social development and pastoral care

  • Attendee support is prioritised with low ratio teaching and social welfare

  • Individually negotiated programs (Individual Learner Agreements) are developed for each person

  • The Link Centre culture is based on practical and activity centered learning, with zero tolerance for group harm

  • Each young person must take responsibility for their own attendance

  • All books and equipment are supplied

  • Food is supplied

  • A core outcome measured for each young person is the (re)building of literacy and numeracy skills

  • Parental involvement and support is fostered

  • Community bridges and links complete and compliment the program and the various mainstream re-entry points for attendees

Attendance

The Link Centre strives for overall attendance rates above education department requirements.
